Hey, hey, hey! Wavy G'z! We are so excited to welcome you to our website. It's LAUNCH DAY! We have so many great stories being lined up to be produced. We are filmmakers, screenwriters, and even musicians, so podcasting was probably the last thing on our minds. We're so used to seeing and hearing about non-fiction podcasts that typically follow, celebrity news and gossip, world news and gossip, culture and more gossip. Ok, ok...I know the positive podcasting sector exists as well. From self-help to spiritual journeys and even being able to pick up and learn a new craft or skill.
We know many people find the podcasting world to be great, while others don't have the attention span to endure a 2 to 3 hour long show. We knew old time radio dramas were a thing, but as millennials we were dropped off into the world of television, film, and eventually the internet as it grew with different social medias sites during our younger years. When we discovered Audio Dramas/Fiction Podcasts were still a thing NOW and rising, we found a new way to express ourselves and have our voices heard.
We must admit we weren't the biggest fans ourselves of the podcasting world unless we were looking for something specific. Even then those episodes would be entirely too long. We noticed many Fiction Podcasts were ranging from 15-45 minutes. Some are often longer, but the sweet spot seems to be around 30 minutes or less for most. This! This, we could work with.
We dabbled into the world of Fiction Podcasting, listening, and just discovering all the different storytelling formats people use. Some use a narrator. Some use a radio host to tell us about the strange towns they're living in. Others are an immersive audio experiences with character-driven stories and ensemble casts that do an amazing job of using sound and music to convey what we're hearing as if we're seeing it on screen.
We are so excited to embark on this new journey of storytelling. We hope that as we continue to learn, grow, and find what works best that you'll still be here for the ride. As Screenwriters we look forward to breaking all the rules and creating great content for the Audio realm. Since Fiction Podcasts are somewhat "new" (if you think of them differently from old time Radio Dramas), it allows us the freedom to explore this medium. It was around 2007 that the Fiction Podcasts started to emerge in the US and 15 years later there is still no set "formula" or "structure". Which I believe is great because it gives us the freedom to have fun and tell great stories, while doing it.
Well, Wavy G'z! This is it. Again, we say, WELCOME! And thank you for stopping by.
